Michele Melcher
a Pennsylvania-based dark surrealist painter who turns death into something unexpectedly beautiful, humorous, and strangely life-affirming.
A mix of classical 18th- and 19th-century art, dark surrealism, black humor, and brilliant contemporary design, all wrapped in ornate vintage frames. It's almost impossible not to fall in love with these pieces — or resist the temptation to own one.
Before turning to fine art, Michele spent over 20 years working as a commercial illustrator for clients including American Express, Smithsonian, and the Chicago Tribune. Among her artistic influences are Rembrandt, Hieronymus Bosch, and Alexander Roslin.
She's playing a little joke on us, and all we want is a piece of her art.
